Something Else For The Plot

Ok not a very interesting post, but it does emphasize the usefulness and savings that can be found second hand. So before I ramble too much I’ll get to the point. I have picked up one of those black ecomax compost bins for £10 complete with some compost fluid. I do believe it is around 150 litres in capacity but not sure. And I thought this was quite the deal being that they are around £40 new and this bin is almost new.

Still we should be down the plot this weekend so I will have a proper update post with pictures.

  1. I was unable to write a message on your latest post….. I did the exact same thing as you, gave up the allotment, for more or less the same reasons (child instead of dog…). And I also decided on using the garden, with a bit of planning, you’d be amazed how much stuff you can fit into small spaces. Left my allotment in Aug/Sep, haven’t looked back! Instead of having to clear the grass and weeds over and over, my gardening time is spent, well, gardening! More time to grow the veg, and importantly, more time to look after it. I found it less tedious, only walking to the end of the garden, and so much more free time.
Good luck with your changes, and do let us know how it goes 🙂

    1. Hmm how odd. Still the patch was my original plan anyway. And the main reason for this was the growing of vegatables not removing weeds. And I doubt that I will have a plot in the next few years as we will be thinking about starting a family soon.
